The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have waived defensive tackle Matthew Masifilo, which seems to be a monthly ritual by now. He'll presumably be re-signed to the team's practice squad, which is where he was placed before being signed to play all of four special teams snaps in Sunday's game.
The Bucs also waived linebacker Mister Alexander and fullback Lonnie Pryor from their practice squad, while replacing them with linebacker Denicos Allen, tight end Teb Bolster and tackle Matt Patchan. The only player the Bucs have some experience with is Patchan, who was on the team's offseason roster as an undrafted free agent.
The Bucs now have two openings on their 53-man roster, as they actually played last game with 52 players on their roster. Apparently the free agents on the market are so horrible that they don't even warrant being on one of the roster of one of the worst teams in the NFL. Oh joy.
