Rookie wide receiver Mike Evans pulled up gimpy on a deep route during the third quarter of the game between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Pittsburgh Steelers. Evans had to be helped off the field, and has now been ruled out for the game with a groin injury.
The receiver seemed to pull his groin, or perhaps a hamstring while running down the field. To make matters worse, his coming up gimpy led directly to an interception, just as the Bucs offense was looking somewhat competent.
The Bucs have been incredibly unluck with injuries this year, as every game has featured at least five injured starters. This one is no different, despite the return of Gerald McCoy and Doug Martin. During the game, Dashon Goldson injured his ankle and was declared out as well.
The Bucs are hanging on in Pittsburgh, down a touchdown to the Steelers, but their defense is struggling and having Mike Evans out won't help matters, either.
