Mason Foster will not play today for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers against the New Orleans Saints, according to Rick Stroud. The linebacker is still recovering from a shoulder injury suffered during the week two game against the St. Louis Rams, but it looked like he had a decent chance to play today. Sadly, he can't.
Dane Fletcher will start in Foster's place. The veteran backup has been up-and-down since stepping into the lineup, frequently finding himself in the wrong gap in run defense and biting too hard on play-action. The Saints will certainly look to exploit him in today's game.
The Bucs will also have to miss safety Dashon Goldson and receiver Mike Evans, both of whom had been ruled out earlier this week. The Saints will be without running back Mark Ingram and safety Jairus Byrd, who was placed on injured reserve on Friday.
We'll have the full list of actives and inactives for you at 12:30 p.m.
