Well, it happened. Antonio Brown is a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
There have been months of speculation pertaining to where Brown may land and the conversation grew over the last few days due to the fact that Brown’s eight-game suspension will be lifted in a couple of weeks.
Teams like the Seahawks, Ravens, and others were mentioned, but the Bucs never were. Brown was outspoken about his desire to reconnect with Tom Brady, so it was a bit of a surprise to see Tampa Bay absent from the list of potential destinations.
Lo and behold, Brown was a Buc by Friday’s end. Talk about a news dump.
So where do the Bucs and Brown go from here? It’s clear that he makes this offense the league’s best on paper, but how will it translate to the field? If it all works to plan, then Tampa Bay will be unstoppable on offense and should make a deep run if the team stays healthy.
But that’s the key with Brown. This plan could easily backfire. One doesn’t have to go too far to see his recent, troubled history with the Steelers, Raiders, and Patriots.
How will it all shake out? Join me as I quickly break the signing down and what it could mean for the Bucs from this point forward on the latest edition of The North & South Podcast!
