This late in any NFL season a team's health begins to become every bit as important as their talent. Most teams are dealing with injuries at this point, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New Orleans Saints are no different.
Some of the more noteworthy listing are the official rulings of Carlton Davis and Shaq Barrett, who have both been ruled out for Sunday's game. The rulings don't necessarily come as a surprise, neither has practiced all week.
Carlton Davis has missed time frequently this year and while having him on the field would be ideal, his absence will not be a new hurdle for Tampa's defense. Shaq Barrett may represent a different situation altogether. The Buccaneers' defense has struggled generating consistent pressure, without blitzing, all season. Minus an edge rusher, it will be interesting to see how Todd Bowles' group manufactures pressure on Derek Carr this week.
On the Saints side of the injury report, resides a longer list of names. Most notably, Alvin Kamara and Chris Olave.
Kamara did not participate in practice Friday, due to an illness and has been listed as questionable for the game.
Olave has been limited with an ankle all week and was a limited participant again on Friday. The health of Olave and Kamara could go a long way to determining the success of the a struggling Saints' offense in this game.
