Buccaneers place Antonio Brown on COVID-19 list

One of quarterback Tom Brady’s many targets has been placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list. The Buccaneers announced Wednesday that said player is veteran receiver Antonio Brown.

Ahead of a big Week 3 matchup against the Los Angles Rams, this is perhaps not the news Tampa Bay wanted to deal with. In order for him to play Sunday, he would have to test negative twice on separate consecutive days.

Brown had a good Week 1 performance against the Dallas Cowboys on opening night recording five catches for 121 yards and a touchdown. He had just one catch for 17 yards in Week 2 in a win over the Atlanta Falcons.

Fortunately the Bucs have plenty of offensive targets for Brady. If Brown cannot meet the NFL’s protocols for eligibility then Scotty Miller will surely be bumped up to the third wide receiver spot. Others like wide receiver Tyler Johnson and tight end Cameron Brate would surely see increased playing time in the passing game.
