When quarterback Tom Brady was acquired by the Buccaneers last offseason, Tampa Bay was an intriguing destination for many veteran players. The additions of players like Rob Gronkowski and Antonio Brown proved that to be the case.
But in the background, Brady recruited, or simply talked to, many players to join him in Tampa Bay. Running back Marshawn Lynch was another.
Talking to Sports Nation on ESPN, Lynch revealed he spoke to the future Hall of Fame quarterback of potentially signing with the Bucs.
“I was specifically speaking to Tom Brady and the Bucs. That’s who I was talking to,” Lynch said regarding a return to the NFL via Joe Bucs Fan.
The former Raider and Seahawk rusher hinted at his career being done. Tampa Bay obviously acquired LeSean McCoy and Leonard Fournette, where Fournette became one of the main focal points in the Buccaneers offense even earning a second contract from the team.
We don’t know what kind of impact Lynch could have made in Tampa Bay. But one thing is clear, the Bucs were just fine with who they have on their roster.
