Buccaneers free agent Ndamukong Suh could be ‘deciding between retiring or returning’

The veteran defensive tackle may have achieved all he has ever wanted.

Several Buccaneers free agents remain unsigned and one of them is defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh.

At the start of free agency, reports suggested that Suh and the Buccaneers were actively engaged in conversations on a potential return to Tampa Bay. But as time has passed, the veteran tackle could be leaning towards retirement.

Appearing on the Ronnie and TKras show on 95.3 WDAE, The Athletic’s Greg Auman feels that there may only be two options Suh is currently contemplating.

“With Ndamukong I think it’s more, where as with [Antonio Brown and Leonard Fournette] there could be another team in play, Ndamukong I think is closer to deciding between retiring or returning,” Auman said. “He’s 34, literally has twins due this week. I think that could be some of the things there that making a big decision ‘do you want to come back, do you not want to come back’ I feel you want to give the full perspective of ‘wow I have twins here, I’m newly married in the last year’, you just want to be able to decide that and everything you have.”

Auman later added that both sides have mutual interest and would like to see Suh in pewter again. But sometimes — if not all the time — life outside of football is just that much bigger despite having the wife’s blessings on returning to football.

You can check out the full audio below where Auman talks about Brown, Fournette, and a possible replacement for Suh that played with quarterback Tom brady while with the New England Patriots.
