Former NFL Exec links Julian Edelman to the Buccaneers

Many folks have linked Patriots players to Tampa Bay because, well, yeah...

The NFL offseason is well underway and with uncertainty surrounding certain players across the league, many folks are suggesting new places for players to begin the next chapters in their careers. And the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are a team right now some are linking several players to.

Enter Patriots veteran wide receiver Julian Edelman.

New England has found themselves acquiring two wide receivers and two tight ends this offseason which have led many to believe Edelman has played his last snap in New England. With that said, former NFL front office executive Mike Tannenbaum feels that Edelman is not only out of the Patriots plans but he likes the chances of Edelman reuniting with quarterback Tom Brady in Tampa Bay.

“Who’s expendable? Julian Edelman,” Tannenbaum said as he discussed New England’s acquisitions on ESPN’s Get Up. “Tom Brady. Julian Edelman. When we connect the dots, it makes a lot of sense. Antonio Brown wasn’t re-signed, Edelman is now expendable, it’s another ex-Patriot going to Tampa Bay with Tom Brady. It makes a lot of sense to me when you connect the dots.”

Former Steelers safety Ryan Clark disagreed with Tannenbaum’s remarks by saying that he’d rather have Scotty Miller on the field over Edelman and that the Buccaneers are already “good enough” with their current roster.
