As Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady shared his extension, he had a message to the world.
“We’re keeping the band together,” Brady said as he shared of a photo of him signing his extension.
However, what was interesting is a response by a player Tampa Bay does not want to let hit free agency.
Outside linebacker Shaquil Barrett.
Via Greg Auman of The Athletic, Barrett cryptically responded to Brady’s message.
Always a good sign: Tom Brady posts on Instagram about “keeping the band together” and Shaq Barrett comments with a “yessir.” pic.twitter.com/0NDbkzWZlm

Could this be a sign that he and the Bucs are close to reaching an agreement? That still remains to be seen. The legal tampering period kicks off Monday so many eyes and ears will be glued on any potential news that could come out of Tampa Bay. But this exchange sure seems like an encouraging sign.
The Bucs could in fact be inching closer to Barrett’s potential asking price. After tagging Chris Godwin, extending Lavonte David, and restructuring Brady, it looks like the Buccaneers are indeed holding true to their word and trying everything they can to bring Barrett back, along with others from the Super Bowl winning roster.
