As the Buccaneers continue to deal with the litany of injury issues they’ve endured so for in 2021, there are more star players out in their third prime time game of the season. As the Bucs prepare to take on the Philadelphia Eagles, they will be without tight end Rob Gronkowski for the third straight game, Antoine Winfield Jr. for the second straight game, and are now without Lavonte David.
The Eagles have a pass catching threat at tight end in Zach Ertz who figures to be a big part of the game plan with the Bucs missing David in the middle of the defense. Although Kevin Minter has been in the league for quite a while, the Bucs are certainly going to missing something in terms of pass coverage when it comes to defending the tight end position.
It goes without saying that Carlton Davis and Sean Murphy-Bunting are still out, so there will be a lot of eyes on Richard Sherman as he continues to try and get acclimated to the defensive scheme - as well as get back to form in the secondary. Jamel Dean will be out there as well as Ross Cockrell, who has played well the past few weeks as he was thrust into the starting lineup.
Running back Ke’Sahwn Vaughn will be active, giving the Buccaneers four running backs on the game day roster.
Here are the inactive players for the Bucs and Eagles ahead of Thursday Night Football;
Tampa Bay Buccaneers:
QB - Kyle Trask
S - Antoine Winfield Jr.
TE - Rob Gronkowski
LB - Lavonte David
WR - Jaelon Darden
G - Nick Leverett
Philadelphia Eagles:
QB - Gardner Minshew
OT - Lane Johnson
CB - Mac McCain
OL - Jack Anderson
DT - Marlon Tuipulotu
The Eagles are without tight end Dallas Goedert, who was placed on the Reserve/COVID list on Wednesday, not giving him the ability to clear protocol ahead of the Thursday kickoff.
The Buccaneers and Eagles will kick off from Lincoln Financial Field at 8:20 p.m. ET on FOX, NFL Network, and Amazon Prime. Joe Buck, Troy Aikman, and Erin Andrews will be on the call.
