The Buccaneers are heading into week five still extremely thin in the secondary. Carlton Davis was placed on injured reserve, Sean Murphy-Bunting is still out, and Antoine Winfield Jr. will miss the game with a concussion. It’s another big test for the recently signed Richard Sherman who is still trying to get himself back in football shape after being out for nine months.
On the bright side, the Bucs will see the return of Jason Pierre-Paul as well as cornerback Jamel Dean. JPP has missed the last three games with a shoulder injury while Dean missed last week’s contest with a lingering knee issue.
The Buccaneers will also be without tight end Rob Gronkowski who is still dealing with rib injuries suffered against the Los Angeles Rams in week three.
For the Dolphins, they will be without deep threat wide receiver Will Fuller who was placed on injured reserve with a broken finger, which is a big break for the Bucs’ secondary. Fellow wide receiver Devante Parker was listed as questionable on Friday’s injury report and when testing his hamstring in pregame warm-ups decided he couldn't go. That means the top receiver for Jacoby Brissett will be rookie Jaylen Waddle.
