Well... not sure what the odds of this are, but it’s truly something.
The Buccaneers played the Saints in the Divisional Round of the playoffs to make it their third matchup of the 2020 season. On Sunday, Tampa Bay played the Green Bay Packers for the NFC Championship — their second matchup of the season. They will now play another team yet again this season, but this time for the Lombardi Trophy.
The Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Buffalo Bills for the AFC Championship and will play the Bucs in Super Bowl LV, marking it their second meeting of the season.
Crazy.
During their regular season meeting, the Chiefs beat the Buccaneers 27-24. The score looked like it was much closer than what it was but Tampa Bay got off to a notorious slow start, even trailing at the half 20-7. Their fourth quarter comeback attempt obviously fell short as the 14 points they put up in the final 15 minutes was too little too late.
What will happen this time around? We’ll have to wait and see when the Super Bowl kicks off on Sunday, February 7 at 6:30 PM ET from Raymond James Stadium.
