The Buccaneers have announced their 16-man practice squad. Although we’re already seeing additional alterations to the initial plan, many of our predictions seemed to pan out correctly. In a predictions article I put out earlier, I suspected running back Ray Calais and center A.Q. Shipley to be among the top tier talent to be re-signed to the practice squad. Turns out, Calais gets poached by the Rams and Shipley is actually signed to the active roster.
Here’s the updated 16-man practice squad:
G Zack Bailey
S D’Cota Dixon
WR Cyril Grayson
S Javon Hagan
TE Tanner Hudson
DL Jeremiah Ledbetter
G Nick Leverett
CB Herb Miller
WR Josh Pearson
DL Benning Potoa’e
ILB Chapelle Russell
C Zach Shackelford
CB Mazzi Wilkins
QB Josh Rosen*
K Greg Joseph*
One additional spot is open after the Calais move, and since the roster will continue to change, we’ll leave it as it is for now.
The league and NFLPA expanded practice squads to 16 giving teams more flexibility as they try to operate with the COVID-19 protocols in place. The roster provides added depth with experience which should prove to be very helpful down the stretch.
