Buccaneers’ Thursday Injury Report - Week Two

Chris Godwin missed practice again as he goes through concussion protocol

NFL: Tampa Bay Buccaneers at New Orleans Saints Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sports

In week one all eyes were on Mike Evans as he missed practice due to a hamstring issue. This week, it’s Chris Godwin that has Buccaneers fans nervous as he was a late entry into concussion protocol. Godwin started feeling some delayed symptoms on Wednesday following the helmet-to-helmet hit he suffered late in the fourth quarter against the Saints in week one.

Given that he went into protocol so late, his status for Sunday is very much in question right now. However, if Godwin is unable to go, look to the tight end group of O.J. Howard, Rob Gronkowski, and Cameron Brate to step up and try to fill the void for the Buccaneers’ offense.

Other players listed on the injury report include Mike Evans (hamstring) and Donovan Smith (knee) as limited participants, Jordan Whitehead (elbow) as a full participant, and Jason Pierre-Paul (not injury related) as a did not participate. The other DNP was tight end Antony Auclair (calf) who was limited on Wednesday but downgraded to DNP on Thursday.

For the Carolina Panthers, Yetur Gross-Matos did not participate with a concussion and Kawann Short (foot) was limited.
