It sounds like Lavonte David is getting closer to becoming a Buc for life.
Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network dropped a tweet Friday stating the Bucs and the nine-year veteran have been quietly working on an extension.
The #Bucs have been quietly doing some business, as they’ve had recent negotiations with an eye toward extending LB Lavonte David, source said. One of the faces of their D for nearly a decade, David is due to make $10.75M this season, the final one in his current deal.

LVD is one of the best all-around linebackers in the league and an ultimate fan-favorite. He also shows no signs of slowing down after recording a 123-tackle season in 2019 — which is the most he’s had since 2015.
David has started 121 games over the course of eight seasons, recording 1,008 combined tackles, 22.5 sacks, 116 tackles for loss, 11 interceptions, 21 forced fumbles, 14 fumble recoveries, and 45 pass break-ups.
Stay tuned for updates.
