Buccaneers to sign center A.Q. Shipley

The Buccaneers are adding experienced depth along their offensive line

A player that has been with Bruce Arians along many of his NFL stops has been center A.Q. Shipley. It appears as though Tampa Bay will soon be added to that list.

Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Shipley will be signing with the Buccaneers once he is able to take - and pass - a physical;

Shipley was a seventh round pick for the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 2009 NFL Draft but didn’t get into an NFL game until the 2012 season when he started five games for the Indianapolis Colts. Shipley would play in 2013 for the Baltimore Ravens before heading back to Indianapolis for one season then playing from 2015 through 2019 - minus the 2018 season where he was placed on season ending IR with a torn ACL - for the Arizona Cardinals where he started all sixteen games in the 206, 2017, and 2019 seasons.

Shipley brings plenty of NFL experience - and knowledge of Bruce Arians’ offense - to the Bucs where he will provide depth behind Ryan Jensen at the center position. Shipley also has experience at left guard where he would be able to step in should he be called upon.

Again, this won’t become official until Shipley takes and passes his physical, but another solid depth signing for the Bucs heading into the 2020 season.
