The Buccaneers have placed two more running backs on the league’s Reserve/COVID-19 list, the team announced Friday afternoon.
Full squads have started reporting for training camp across the league this week, and of course, the first step in beginning workouts is clearing COVID-19 protocols. Tampa Bay had previously placed rookie running back Ke’Shawn Vaughn on the Reserve/COVID-19 list, and now fellow rookie running back Raymond Calais and second-year running back Aca’Cedric Ware have both joined him.
The list, which consisted of more than 60 players league-wide as of Friday morning, was created by the NFL for players who have either tested positive for COVID-19 or been in close contact with someone who has.
With three running backs currently out, Tampa Bay has Ronald Jones II, the recently-signed LeSean McCoy, Dare Ogunbowale and T.J. Logan in the backfield with the season set to kick off in a little over a month.
