Howard: Buccaneers offense “best in the NFL”

O.J. Howard joined Good Morning Football and laid claim to the Buccaneers’ offense being the best in the league

The hype train can’t get going much faster.

Yes, we’ve talked about the additions of Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ roster non-stop since the acquisitions were made - but we’re not the only ones. In fact, the Bucs have become the media darlings of sports talk programs. From appearances by Brady himself to Chris Godwin, Shaquil Barrett, and others, the NFL media can’t get enough of this new look Bucs squad.

The latest in the line of interviewees was tight end O.J. Howard who appeared on NFL Network’s “Good Morning Football,” where he made a pretty bold claim;

“As far as our offense? I mean, you look at us, you line us up against any other offenses in the league and we’re right up there at the top with them. Only time will tell how good we are but I think when you put us on paper we’re one of the best, if not the best in the league. So, I’m lookin forward to it and I’m so excited to get going.”

That’s a bold statement from the Bucs’ tight end. With Brady and Gronk playing in an offense they’ve never played in before, with teammates that they haven’t had the opportunity to truly work out with and to put yourself in that caliber? That could be some fodder for heavy criticism in the coming months.

Now, the Bucs’ offense last season was pretty impressive so they don’t have far to go in order to be up there at the top. However, the Kansas City Chiefs are still the offense that reign supreme and it may be tough for the Bucs to reach that level of production.

Either way, it shows that yet another member of this roster is chomping at the bit to get on the field with their new leader, and quarterback, for the 2020 season. For the full interview, check out the tweet below.
