They’re finally here. After six years of waiting, six years of ridicule, six years of a flashing “12:00” in your eyes every time the Bucs took the field - it’s all over. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have unveiled their new uniforms via social media with an emphasis on returning to the glory days of team history;

Buccaneers players Devin White, Chris Godwin, and Lavonte David were on hand to model the new looks, each sporting a different variation of the uniform.
They’re simple, they’re sleek, and they’re going to sell like hotcakes now that the mistake of 2014 has been replaced. When introduced in 2014, coinciding with the hiring of Lovie Smith, the jerseys were as well received as the Bucs’ 2014 season (2-14 for those that blocked it from their memories.)
Now, the Bucs are back with the red and white home and road uniforms - as expected - with your more 1997-2013 style block numbers. The big surprise is when you look at the color rush jerseys.
Fans have been clamoring for a pewter jersey for quite some time - and now they get one. The Glazers and the organization have obviously been listening to the fan outcry over the last few years about how unhappy everyone has been with the Bucs’ look but on top of that, they’ve been listening to the fans’ desire to have more pewter infused to the top half of the uniforms rather than the now seldom used pewter pants.
Buccaneers Owner/Co-Chairman Ed Glazer stated: “This new but familiar look is a direct result of the valuable feedback we received from our fans. We are excited to return to our classic Super Bowl era uniforms while also introducing a sleek Color Rush uniform that showcases our signature pewter in a new and dramatic way. The refreshed classic design of our home and away combinations bridges our past with our exciting new future, and we are confident it will resonate with our fans.”
So there you have it Bucs fans. A new look to usher in a new era of Tampa Bay Buccaneers football. With any luck, these uniforms will garner the same success as the ones that inspired them. Then, when people say “Super Bowl era uniforms” you’re forced to say “which ones?”
