Another week down with no live sports but we are inching closer to the NFL Draft. Teams have hit a slow period in free agency but this past week didn’t go without some action inside the division. Let’s take a look at the big headline for each rival in the NFC South.

New Orleans Saints

The Saints decided to bring back P.J. Williams this past week and while it isn’t a big signing, it’s a necessary one for a team needing secondary depth. The deal is for $2 million over one year.

Carolina Panthers

The Panthers made the signing of former Saints receiver Keith Kirkwood official. The deal reunites Kirkwood with Coach Rhule and Teddy Bridgewater.

Atlanta Falcons

The Falcons round out the division with the official details of Dante Fowler Jr.’s contract coming out. Fowler signed a three year deal worth $45 million that included $29 million in guarantees to go with his $14 million signing bonus. His 2019 cap his is only $6.66 million but then skyrockets in year two to over $18 million.

That about does it for this week in Batten Down the Hatches. Let us know your opinions on what the biggest news in the division was this past week whether it’s a Buccaneers move or division rival.
