On March 20, 2020 the Tampa Bay Buccaneers released a hype video announcing Tom Brady as the new quarterback of the franchise, sparking excitement and drawing attention to the Florida football franchise like we haven’t seen in quite some time.
The video, titled “Tom Brady X Tampa Bay”, capitalized on the like initials between the player and the team name. Like many fans and media alike have, ‘TB to TB’ or the like has been a common phrase written and uttered on radio, television and podcast productions throughout the off-season speculation.
Now that the deal is done, it appears Brady and/or his agents are looking to capitalize on the coincidence tailor-made for marketing.
Trademark lawyer and founder of the Gerben Law Frim, Josh Gerben, appears to be the first to spot the move, and recently released a video discussing the trademark filing and what it might mean for the future of “TB X TB”.
Tom Brady's agents have filed a new trademark application for:

TB X TB
The filing, made with the USPTO on March 20th, indicates a TB X TB clothing brand will be launched soon.

Assuming the trademark goes through, it appears safe to assume Buccaneers fans and fans of the quarterback in general, will soon be able to buy their own official ‘‘TB X TB’’ merchandise.
Brady is no stranger to leveraging his fame and achievements on the field into off-field income, including the establishment of his TB12Sports.com website and company. And it appears his new location has inspired a new opportunity for more of the same, while fans of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will hope his arrival brings more of the same results he had while with the New England Patriots.
