Buccaneers sign Mickens to active roster

The receiver/returner has seen playing time in 2020.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers today signed wide receiver Jaydon Mickens from their practice squad to their active roster and placed running back Kenjon Barneron Injured Reserve.

Mickens (5-11, 170) has played in nine games for the Buccaneers this season, returning 15 punts for 99 yards (6.6 avg.) and 12 kickoffs for 289 yards (22.9 avg.). Mickens has also tallied seven receptions for 58 yards. He has been on the team’s practice squad since December 9.

Mickens has played in 26 career games since entering the league as a college free agent with the Oakland Raiders during the 2016 offseason. Prior to first joining Tampa Bay as a free agent in 2019, Mickens played in 16 games for the Jacksonville Jaguars from 2017-18, recording six receptions for 77 yards and two touchdowns, in addition to fielding 39 punt returns and eight kick returns. The Los Angeles native, and Washington product, wears No. 85 for Tampa Bay.
