Well, no one was able to get on their horse and ride last week. Jason Curtis was one Rob Gronkowski touchdown away from nailing his bold prediction, but alas, it just wasn’t enough.
The Bucs need to step up and take down the Saints on Sunday Night Football. Will any of the crew step up this week with their bold prediction?
Bailey: With all of the talk about Antonio Brown and the question marks about Chris Godwin’s finger, I’m going out on a limb to say that Godwin not only suits up and plays but also surpasses 100 yards receiving and catches two touchdowns. He’ll tough it out and help carry the Bucs to a huge victory.
David: Antonio Brown gets eight targets, four receptions (8-4) for 81-yards and has one touchdown. The touchdown will be followed by a successful Ryan Succop extra point, meaning Brown will produce 1 7-point producing play. No, you’re cheesy.
Evan: I’ve struggled with this all week. Regardless, I’m predicting that the (+4.5) underdog Saints win this game by at least 10 points. That doesn’t mean it will be a blowout, the Bucs can remain competitive throughout the game and still lose in this fashion. But look for the Saints to make it five wins in a row over the Bucs on Sunday night.
James: Oh, buddy. I got a doozie this week. All the talk, obviously, is about Antonio Brown joining the Bucs and playing for the first time since week two of 2019. That said, we've heard countless times about how great of shape he's in, how he's living with Tom Brady and getting a crash course on the offense. So, my bold prediction is that AB's stat line for week nine will be better than Saints' wide receiver Michael Thomas who is set to play for the first time since week one.
Jason: I tried to beat all the other guys to the punch with a good Antonio Brown bold prediction, but to my dismay James beat me to it. Alas, it was not exactly the prediction I was going to make.
I believe the hype is intentional. I believe the hype is real. I believe the hype will render real results. Antonio Brown will score a touchdown in his very first game as a Buccaneer. It won’t be a dramatic post route or bomb, but he’ll hit pay dirt. Headlines will be roaring on Monday. Take it to the bank Bucs Nation!
Editor’s Pick by Gil Arcia: Guys, you made things too obvious with your Brown predictions. As in, going that route (see what I did there?). I like Bailey’s optimism for Godwin but there is still a major unknown there for me. And while I think the Saints will win, I don’t think it’s going to be by the spread Evan is predicting. So for this week, I’m going with James. Not necessarily a touchdown, but just appearing on the stat sheet with better stats than Thomas. That’s saying something.
