The XFL is back, baby!

The Tampa Bay Vipers released its official roster on Monday and there was a familiar name on the list. Former Bucs wideout Donteea Dye made the roster and will play wide receiver during the upcoming season.

Dye had a brief stint on the Bucs’ active roster/practice squad from 2015-2016. He was signed to the active roster in October 2015, where he caught 11 passes for 132 yards and one touchdown, but he was placed on IR before the 2016 season and was eventually cut. The Bucs brought him back to camp in 2018, but he failed to make the team in any capacity.

It’s great news for Dye, who still gets to play the game he loves at a competitive level. Some of you may remember him for his cicada/solar eclipse scene on Hard Knocks before the 2017 season.

It’s hard to not root for a guy like this. Hopefully everything works out in the coming months and he can have a successful career in the XFL.

Good luck, Donteea!
