Buccaneers wide receiver Chris Godwin had a breakout year in 2019, somehow living up to the astronomical amount of hype that was surrounding him last summer.
The third-year receiver finished the season with 86 catches for 1,333 yards and nine touchdowns, ranking top five in the entire league in yards and touchdowns. All of that translated not only to his first Pro Bowl selection, but also a fantastic fantasy football season. In fact, it was the best ever by a Tampa Bay receiver, according to @NFLFantasy:

As noted in the tweet, Godwin averaged 19.72 fantasy points per game in 2019, which is the best mark ever by a Bucs receiver. He narrowly beat out Mike Evans, who posted 17.90 fantasy points per game this season. The Twitter account did note that Evans’ mark still would’ve only been good for third-best in franchise history even if Godwin hadn’t broken the record.
If we throw out Godwin from this season, Evans' 17.90 fantasy PPG this season would have been 3rd-most by a TB WR in franchise history...behind Mike Evans in 2016 and 2018

So, if you had Godwin in your fantasy league, you probably had a pretty strong season. If you somehow had Godwin and Evans, then you probably took home some hardware. And while this fantasy football record may not compare to Godwin’s numbers ranking near the top of the league and near the top of the franchise’s single-season record book (or his Pro Bowl honors), it’s still pretty cool.
