- K Matt Gay opened the scoring by connecting on a 40-yard field goal with 5:40 to play in the first quarter. He ended the night 2-of-3 on field goal attempts, extending the Tampa Bay lead to 20-14 on a 32-yard field goal with 2:26 remaining in the fourth quarter.
- CB Carlton Davis III recorded his first pass defense of the season and the fifth of his NFL career, forcing a field goal with 8:26 to play in the first half.
- WR Chris Godwin hauled in eight catches for 121 yards and one touchdown. Godwin surpassed the 100-yard mark for the fifth time in his career and the fourth time in his past 10 games. His touchdown came on a 20-yard pass from QB Jameis Winston with 1:25 remaining in the first half, finishing off a five-play, 72-yard drive lasting 2:27. Godwin made four catches of 20-plus yards in the game – his most such receptions in a game for his career. Godwin’s previous high came when he notched three catches of 20-plus yards on 12/30/18 vs. Atlanta, hauling in catches of 25, 25 and 30 yards. Dating back to Week 17 of the 2018 season, Godwin has caught a touchdown in each of the past three contests.
- Winston went 16-of-25 passing in the game, recording 208 yards and one touchdown, with no turnovers and a passer rating of 103.4. The touchdown pass was the 90th of Winston’s career and his second in 2019.
- OLB Shaquil Barrett brought down Carolina Panthers QB Cam Newton for an eight-yard loss in the third quarter. After picking up sacks in each of the first two weeks of the season, Barrett has now recorded sacks in back-to-back games three times in his career. It is the first time he has done so since his rookie season in 2015 when he did it twice (Week 5-6, Week 13-14). Barrett added to his total with back-to-back sacks later in the third quarter, finishing with a career-high 3.0 sacks on the night. Barrett now has 4.0 sacks on the season and 18.0 in his career. He is just the second player in team history (since at least 1991) with 3.0 sacks or more in a single quarter. The only other player to do so was Simeon Rice in the first quarter at New Orleans on 12/1/02. Barrett finished the game with four quarterback hits, 3.0 sacks and three total tackles.
- RB Peyton Barber broke through the middle for a 16-yard rushing touchdown in the third quarter to give Tampa Bay a 17-12 lead. The rushing touchdown was the first of the season for Barber and the 10th of his career. Barber rushed for 82 yards on 23 carries and one touchdown.
- OLB Anthony Nelson recorded his first career forced fumble with 2:54 to play in the third quarter – a fumble that was recovered by DL Ndamukong Suh. Earlier in the game, Nelson notched the first pass defense of his career, deflecting a pass on third-and-long in the second quarter. Suh has five fumble recoveries over the course of his career.
- CB Vernon Hargreaves III led the defense with 12 total tackles in the game, setting a new career high. Hargreaves’ previous high was nine tackles vs. the New York Giants on 10/1/17. His final tackle stopped Panthers RB Christian McCaffrey short of the first down, giving the ball back to the Buccaneers with 1:22 on the clock to seal the 20-14 win. Hargreaves also recorded one pass defense in the game – the 17th of his career.
