It takes two to tango, so saying the Tampa Bay Buccaneers should trade anyone isn’t as simple as just saying the team should do it.
However, when the questions of trades are brought up, we can speculate as two whether the Tampa Bay side of things should enter the dance floor in an effort to find a tango partner.
Bucs tight end Cameron Brate is no new name when it comes to trade possibilities with this team. His name was brought up several times during the off-season tied to players, draft capital and cap space.
Since the team opened training camp and the preseason however, most of the chatter about trading Brate had died down as it appeared most accepted the idea he was going to be a part of the team for at least this season.
Then came Week 3 of the preseason and a home contest against the Cleveland Browns. In it, starting quarterback Jameis Winston was sacked five times and under pressure for just about the entire time he was on the field.
The main culprit? Alex Cappa. First year starting right guard for the Bucs, second-year player in the NFL. Nobody was happy about it, but head coach Bruce Arians tried to assure those outside of the team that it wasn’t as bad as it initially seemed once they went back and reviewed the film.
Still, earlier this week the Locked On Bucs Podcast received a voicemail from a listener wondering if the team shouldn’t still be looking to move Brate for offensive line help.
It’s an interesting question which we answered along with our thoughts, and posted a poll on Twitter asking followers of the show to weigh in.
