Devin White and Jamel Dean set to sign with Buccaneers soon?

In his latest mailbag, Scott Smith of Buccaneers.com said the team’s two remaining unsigned draft picks could ink their deals soon.

With Mike Edwards signing his first NFL contract Thursday, only two of the Buccaneers’ 2019 draft picks remain unsigned. The two guys who haven’t signed at this point are first-round pick Devin White and third-rounder Jamel Dean.

In his latest S.S. Mailbag on Buccaneers.com, Scott Smith seemed to hint that both guys will sign their deals soon:

I wouldn’t be surprised if Dean quickly follows suit, maybe even this week. The Bucs could even get White’s deal done soon, though as a high first-rounder his contract is a little more complicated.

Smith goes on to say that there is no rush, of course. Both guys participated in OTAs and mini camp. It’s only mid-June and training camp doesn’t get underway until later next month. The two will surely have signed their rookie deals by then. Smith even mentions that there’s no real reason to worry about a holdout, as the Bucs haven’t had a holdout by a rookie “of any significance” since the 1990s.

Updates on deals for these guys don’t seem to be too far off, so stay tuned.
