Buccaneers fans who feel veteran defensive tackle Gerald McCoy can still wreak havoc on opposing offenses nerded out when they saw their star player post a workout video on Instagram over the weekend. He also posted a picture of himself playing video games the same day which of course drew excitement from fans as well. But McCoy (somewhat) blasted his naysayers on the IG video for “doubting” his work ethic while showing he had his kids with him as well.
However, while he’s posting videos on social media, the Bucs are still trying to figure out what to do with the former pro bowler.
According to NFL media reporter Ian Rapoport, it appears that both Tampa Bay and McCoy have talked about a new deal to some degree. The Bucs feel his contract is too high and he wants some sort of guaranteed money. Rapoport also adds that he’s not showing up to workouts until something is done.

This is a classic case of a player who feels he still has what it takes but the team has enough film and stats to justify their stance.
The team reportedly got calls for a potential deal to move the veteran defensive tackle, however, his contract prevented it. If the Bucs do elect to move on it’s probably best to just cut him and stop letting this drag on.
