While the team hasn’t had one of those ‘splash’ signings fans sometimes covet so dearly in the off-season, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have brought in some very skilled players to help them re-load for the 2019 NFL Season.
One of those players is wide receiver, Breshad Perriman.
Bucs fans are still months away from really seeing what Perriman is going to bring to the field as a member of their favorite team. But James Yarcho and I were able to catch up with him in the days following his signing to speak with him about his path from UCF to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
If you caught the press conference and interviews held at team headquarters in recent days then you already have a sense of how excited he is to be joining new teammates like Jameis Winston, Mike Evans and Chris Godwin.
This was a sentiment he echoed in our conversation, saying, “I feel like, just being out there with Mike Evans, I think that’s just going to be a wonderful thing. Just another resource to really learn from.”
Reinforcing some earlier statements he made about head coach Bruce Arians, Perriman also said, “The type of mentality that he has as a coach and the type of players that he likes coaching, as far as receivers, it just got me really excited.”
Perriman doesn’t shy away from the path his career has taken. In fact, he embraces it with a resilience and belief that everything happens for a reason. No matter how he got to Tampa Bay, he’s happy to be with the franchise and is ready to get to work as soon as possible.
