Jameis Winston “Can’t Always Be Superman”

Bruce Arians spoke about some of the things Jameis Winston needs to work on

Jameis Winston has a head coach that is firmly behind him. In fact, Bruce Arians has cited Winston multiple times as one of the biggest and most intriguing reasons he came to Tampa Bay.

That doesn’t mean Winston is without fault.

We all know that. Winston still has a propensity to make mistakes, force passes he shouldn’t, and turn the ball over. That doesn’t mean Arians can’t - or won’t - win with him.

At the NFL Scouting Combine, Arians addressed some places for improvement for Winston moving forward into the 2019 season;

“There’s a few mechanical things. You can’t be Superman on every throw. I mean, he can be. When you have great ones, they think they can. You just have to pick and choose sometimes when you want to be Superman.

He has a great work ethic. He’s there at five o’clock in the morning. There’s no reason he can’t be really, really successful.”

Arians has worked with the likes of Peyton Manning, Andrew Luck, and Ben Roethlisberger and is excited for the opportunity to work with Winston. Hopefully some of these mechanical flaws and mental mistakes can be worked out in the process.
