If the first half of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ game against the Indianapolis Colts wasn’t exciting enough, Jameis Winston started the third quarter on the sideline while Ryan Griffin took snaps with the offense.
It took a little while, but eventually we all found out Winston had an injury to his right hand forcing him to the sideline, leading to Griffin’s first regular season NFL action in his career.
Jacoby Brissett and the Colts brought the focus back to the game with a seven play drive spanning three and a half minutes, ending with a touchdown pass and two-point conversion to wide receiver, Zach Pascal. The score gave Indianapolis a 35-21 lead over the Buccaneers.
On the ensuing drive, Jameis Winston re-entered the game and answered Brissett’s seven-play touchdown drive with his own five-play drive. Winston connected from 17-yards out with wide receiver Justin Watson to make it a one score game with the Colts leading 35-28.
And that’s how the third quarter would end. With the Buccaneers down by seven, and the ball near midfield.
One quarter to go on this ride! Let’s see how it ends!
