Buccaneers vs Texans - series history

How have the Buccaneers and Texans done against one another historically?

NFL: Indianapolis Colts at Tampa Bay Buccaneers Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

As the Bucs and Texans prepare to take the field, there isn’t a whole lot of history that goes into these two teams. The Texans currently hold a 3-1 lead between the two, having won their last three match-ups.

The Bucs won the first time around - a 16-3 win in 2003 - but lost in 2007, 2011, and 2015.

Jameis Winston went 17-36 for 261 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in the losing effort. Mike Evans added seven receptions on seventeen targets for 101 yards.

DeShaun Watson has never faced the Buccaneers, but DeAndre Hopkins has. In his one game he matched Mike Evans by also getting 101 yards on eight receptions but Hop also had a touchdown.

A couple of things going against the Buccaneers in this one - the Buccaneers haven’t won a week sixteen game since 2010 - a 38-15 win over the Seattle Seahawks - and the Bucs will be without their two Pro Bowl receivers

The Buccaneers and Texans kick off at 1:00 p.m. ET Saturday at Raymond James Stadium.
