Bucs announce addition to practice squad

Familiar name has returned.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced today the team has signed wide receiver Spencer Schnell to its practice squad, while wide receiver Trevion Thompson has been released from the practice squad.

Schnell (5-8, 180) played in four preseason games with Tampa Bay, notching seven receptions for 119 yards. He entered the NFL as a college free agent with the Buccaneers this past offseason. The Elkhart, Indiana, native played collegiately at Illinois State, earning All-Missouri Valley first-team honors as a senior in 2018, with 872 yards receiving and nine touchdowns.

Tampa Bay’s practice squad stands at 10.
