Buccaneers vs Lions: Series History

How do the Buccaneers and Lions stack up historically?

NFL: Detroit Lions at Tampa Bay Buccaneers Jonathan Dyer-USA TODAY Sports

The Buccaneers and Lions were division rivals for quite a while back in the old NFC Central - better known as the “black and blue” division. Now, they tend to square off due to their finish within their own divisions.

The Detroit Lions lead the all time series 31-27, having won the last two meetings and four of the last five. They also hold a 16-13 win-loss advantage at home.

The longest win streak for either team is five which was accomplished by Detroit. The Lions won five straight from 1994-96 while the Bucs’ longest streak is four in a row from 2001-05.

Jameis Winston in his career against the Lions is 0-1, going 26/38 for 285 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. On the other side, the Bucs won’t get to face Matthew Stafford who is 3-1, going 112/157 for 1,294 yards, ten touchdowns and seven interceptions.

Chris Godwin will be the top receiver for the Bucs in lieu of Mike Evans’ absence. In his one game against the Lions, Godwin had five receptions on six targets for 68 yards.

The Bucs and Lions will face off inside Ford field at 1:00 p.m. ET.
