The initial injury report this week for the Buccaneers and Falcons are, well, drastically different. The Bucs were missing a few key players. Most notably, defensive end/outside linebacker Jason Pierre-Paul was out with a knee issue. Now, there’s no word on the severity at this time but it may be a “rest day” like JPP had last season on Wednesdays.
Another key starter out was Demar Dotson, but it wasn’t injury related so he should be good to go. A nice note for the Bucs was getting Carl Nassib back in a limited capacity.
As for the Falcons, their injury report looked like a novel. They had a total of eight players listed as “Did Not Participate”. Notables include defensive end Adrian Clayborn (groin), Devonta Freeman (foot), Austin Hooper (knee), Julio Jones (knee), Takk McKinley (shoulder), and Matt Ryan (ankle).
It’s unlikely all these players miss the game on Sunday, but from the sounds of things the Falcons will be without Clayborn, Freeman, and Hooper this week.
Here is the full injury report for both teams;
