The Saints got on the board first courtesy of a field goal from Will Lutz. The Buccaneers followed that up with a three-and-out on their first possession before New Orleans got another field goal after the Tampa Bay defense held them out of the end zone on their second possession inside the 10-yard line.
But a bobble by O.J. Howard which was intercepted by New Orleans gave the Saints the ball inside the red zone. And with three seconds, Drew Brees hit Michael Thomas for a touchdown. That offensive play should not have been run and the quarter should have ended.
The score currently sits at 13-0 New Orleans after possessing the football for over 13 minutes in the first quarter.
