The Buccaneers and Saints have released their initial injury report and the early news is of both the positive and negative varieties.
The Bucs saw the return of linebacker Devin White for the first time since he left the week two game against the Carolina Panthers. White has been battling a grade one MCL sprain in his knee that has kept him out for the last two weeks. White was merely a limited participant, but it’s still a giant leap in the right direction.
Cornerback Jamel Dean also returned to practice in a limited capacity while defensive lineman Vita Vea was limited as well.
The bad news is that linebacker Shaquil Barrett missed practice with a groin injury. Barrett is the NFL’s leader in sacks with nine through the first four games and if he is unable to go Sunday it could be bad news for the Bucs’ defense.
Also missing practice were linebacker Jack Cichy with an elbow injury, tackle Demar Dotson with a calf injury, receiver Chris Godwin with a hip injury, receiver Breshad Perriman with a hamstring injury, and center Ryan Jensen with a back injury.
