Growing up, Aaron Murray probably had a day dream or two of himself playing quarterback as the leader of Tampa Bay’s pro football franchise. I doubt the colors he was wearing in those day dreams had any green or yellow in it though.
But that’s exactly what will be happening during the XFL’s inaugural season when Murray leads the Tampa Bay Vipers onto the Raymond James Stadium field to introduce the city to it’s newest football franchise.

The Plant High School product will hope to bring what the city of Tampa hasn’t seen in quite a while. Winning football.
Most recently, Murray was a quarterback with the AAF’s Atlanta Legends franchise and threw for 1,408-yards with three touchdowns and seven interceptions while completing 64.8% of his passes.
Coming out of the Georgia Bulldog’s program, Murray is credited with three seasons in the NFL bouncing around through multiple franchise’s after being drafted in the fifth round of the 2014 NFL Draft by the Kansas City Chiefs.
He hasn’t gotten a whole lot of opportunity at the pro level, but as a “Tier 1” quarterback for the XFL’s Tampa Bay Vipers, he should get plenty in the upcoming season.
Of course, he won’t be the only Vipers player suiting up, as the XFL Draft gets underway today. There are several trackers out there to follow, but here’s the one I’ll be following specifically.
