Interesting statistical comparison between Ben Roethlisberger, Jameis Winston

The two are more similar than some may think through four years

Jameis Winston has had his fair share of ups and downs through his first four seasons in the National Football League, their is no doubt about that, but with Bruce Arians now in charge, things may be looking up for the former #1 overall pick.

When new head coach Bruce Arians was introduced as the man in charge, he stated that “this whole thing will be built around Jameis Winston” and while some fans were excited to hear that, others are still on the fence about building the franchise around him.

While scrolling twitter late Saturday evening, I saw an interesting statistical compairson between Winston and Ben Rothlisberger through the first four years of each players career.

Now, on the surface, you’d look at these stats and say well Winston has out performed Big Ben up to this point, but the real difference is the win-loss record between the two quarterbacks.

After four years, Big Ben was 39-16 and won a Super Bowl, while Winston sits at 21-33 and his best season was a 9-7 campaign back in 2016.

Obviously, many factors go into wins and losses for a QB and the loses aren’t always his fault and here is another example of how Winston’s win-loss record has been effected by poor defense and poor coaching over the first four years.

This is just some food for though on this Championship Sunday in the NFL and a reminder to Buccaneer fans on why they shouldn’t give up on Winston until he proves he can’t win games with a good defense and a good coaching staff.
