Monday night brought many challenges for the Buccaneers. Veteran quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick faced many of them.
Despite not having his best game of 2018, Fitzpatrick still managed to throw for over 400 yards against the Pittsburgh Steelers in a losing effort. That stat makes him the first makes him the first quarterback in NFL history to throw for 400-plus yards in three consecutive games.
Fitzpatrick and the Bucs found themselves down early on in the matchup. Desptie trailing 30-10 at halftime, Tampa Bay came close to coming back from behind in the second half and pull off the victory but fell 30-27. After throwing three interceptions in the first half, Fitzpatrick finished the game 30-for-50 for 411 yards with three touchdowns and three interceptions.
His 51-yard touchdown to Mike Evans in the fourth quarter got the team to within three points. But their 17-point second half was not enough to overcome their mistakes early on in the game.
The Buccaneers are now 2-1 in 2018.
