The Buccaneers host the Philadelphia Eagles at Raymond James Stadium for Tampa Bay’s home opener of the 2018 season. Both teams come into Week 2 with injuries, but a key member of the Bucs offense has been cleared to play.
After suffering a concussion last week against the Saints, veteran wide receiver DeSean Jackson passed the concussion protocol and will hit the field to face his former team.
The Bucs will face a much tougher defense this week, so we shouldn’t expect the offense to play like they did last week. But with a strong offensive line, we’d have to assume that unit can still provide some protection and open up holes for the offense.
With veteran cornerback Brent Grimes and Vernon Hargreaves III out, the secondary will have to be on high alert despite the Eagles missing key players like Alshon Jeffrey and Darren Sproles. The defense’s front four will have to play at a high level to make sure Doug Pederson’s offense doesn’t burn them early and often.
