Former head coach and new CBS analyst Bruce Arians recently joined the Pat McAfee Show on SiriusXM Power 85 and discussed his new upcoming role with CBS as well as what he’s missed - or hasn’t missed - about preparing for the NFL season.
McAfee asked him about any surprise teams he has on his radar and Arians threw his Kangal hat in the ring regarding the Buccaneers while throwing out a pretty interesting statistic;
B.A. - “Every year there’s a surprise team. I like where the Jets are headin. I like where the Browns are headin. If the Bucs can somehow scratch out a win or two when Jameis is suspended. If you think back to the last two quarterbacks suspended, both teams went to the Super Bowl. Ben and Tom Brady”
P.M. - “S—-! Look at you being a real media head! That’s some real research you had to get in there.”
B.A. - “Well I was part of one of them. You can’t go 0-3 and expect to come out of it, not in the NFC South.
This isn’t the first time Arians has spoken about the Bucs recently. Besides a few moments during the broadcast of the Bucs/Lions game where Arians gushed over the team and weapons they have on offense, Arians spoke about Winston’s ability to repair his image much the same way Ben Roethlisberger did while Arians was in Pittsburgh.
