Week 3 of the pre-season is traditionally known as the dress rehearsal as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are expected to play their starters for the majority of the game, and we get the best glimpse into how 2018 will look prior to the real games.

Locked on Bucs jumped on the air to preview the game and address some burning questions circling the team as they enter this important match-up against Matthew Stafford and the Detroit Lions.

Helping out on the broadcast is former Tampa Bay Times writer, former host of the show, and new addition to The Athletic’s impressive line-up of journalists, Greg Auman.

James, Greg, and I discussed topics like the fallout from Charles Sims’ trip to the injured reserve list, the Jameis Winston and Ryan Fitzpatrick first-team split, Todd Monken’s play-calling and of course the defensive line, of which Auman said,

“The most important thing to remember is that they are not showing a whole lot at all on defense. I think this is a very vanilla base defense.....if they are using more than a third of the defensive playbook I would be surprised.”
