The new policy will be effective immediately.

A new football season is upon us and for some Buccaneers fans, this football season will be a bit different than in years past. The Tampa Sports Authority made the announcement on Wednesday, following a vote by it’s board to eliminate all tobacco related products and zones, in and around Raymond James Stadium. TSA President and CEO Eric Hart released this statement on the new policy:

Not only does the new policy completely ban cigarettes and chewing tobacco, it also includes cigars, e-cigarretes and vapor pens.

The new policy will certainly have fans on both sides applauding and denouncing the change and I understand both sides of the argument. It’s a tricky subject about what can be restricted in an effort to please everybody.

What do you think of the new smoke and tobacco free policy? Will it keep you from going to Bucs games in the future? If you’re a non smoker, did it bother you that people smoked in the designated area?
