Lavonte David is the highest-rated Buccaneer in Madden 19

The oft-overlooked linebacker gets some major love.

“Careful how you use that word “close”... “Close” is nothing. It’s worse than nothing. It’s worse than anything in the world.” - Captain Francis Crozier, The Terror

It’s that time of year. We are so close, yet so far away to training camp. Once that arrives, time basically hits light speed as week one of the regular season quickly approaches.

Until then we are left with abstract topics, ideas, and theories about what will happen in 2018. Some of those elements are fueled by innocuous factors such as Madden ratings, which recently came out for the 2019 edition.

Which Bucs were the highest-rated? It may come as a surprise to most outside of the Bay area that Lavonte David was rated at 95, a vast five points ahead of the next-best player in Gerald McCoy.

The Bucs finished with six players who were rated as 85 or higher - with the biggest shocker being Demar Dotson at 88. That’s not taking anything away from Dotson nor Tampa Bay, but it does seem a bit high to me.

Below is David’s player card. As you can see, he is at the top of the line when it comes to the major attributes for impact players at his position and he is the third-highest rated outside linebacker in the entire game.

Check out the rest of the Bucs here. Fire off in the comments with who you think got hosed and who is overrated!
