Ronald Jones is going back to Cali

Buccaneers’ rookie running back Ronald Jones II is heading back to California. This time around it’s for the annual NFLPA Rookie Premiere — which is held at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

The event is for 40 rookies who are considered the most marketable of their class. Rookies will be on hand signing 135,000 cards. There will also be 140-plus pieces of “event-worn” memorabilia, per player.

The event has been going on since 1994. Last offseason tight end O.J. Howard, wide receiver Chris Godwin, and running back Jeremy McNichols attended the event. Looking back, the appearance by McNichols was a head-scratcher considering that this is for the “top marketable rookies” yet McNichols never made it to the Buccaneers 53-man roster.

In even more RoJo news, the rookie will no longer be wearing No. 22. He announced what number he’ll have on his jersey, courtesy of Buccaneers.com’s senior editor Scott Smith on Twitter.
