The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced today that the team has signed guard Ruben Holcomb and cornerback Mark Myers. Both players participated in this weekend’s rookie mini-camp.
Holcomb (6-4, 309) played collegiately at the University of Indianapolis. As a redshirt senior in 2017, he was named American Football Coaches Association Division II first-team All-American, while also being named all-region and all-conference. Holcomb anchored an offensive line that allowed the fewest sacks per game (0.5) in Division II and ranked second in passing efficiency (186.7). The Fort Wayne, Indiana native finished his collegiate career having started 44 consecutive games, and, in 2017, helped lead Indianapolis to the school’s first undefeated regular season since 1953.
Myers (5-10, 185), a native of Orlando, Florida, played collegiately at Southeastern University, located in Lakeland, Florida. During his four seasons with the Fire, Myers totaled 91 tackles (three for loss), 25 passes defensed and nine interceptions (returned 158 yards, two touchdowns). He also totaled 576 punt return yards, with two return touchdowns. In 2016, as a junior, Myers led the team with four interceptions.
The team also announced that safety Josh Liddell, wide receiver Devin Lucien and linebacker Antonio Simmons have been waived.
