Tampa Bay has had a busy Wednesday so far.
After the Buccaneers were reportedly visiting with Florida State safety Derwin James, it was later reported that the team is also visiting with Washington defensive tackle Vita Vea, per NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport.
#Washington DT Vita Vea is visiting with the Tampa Bay #Bucs today on a pre-draft visit, source said. Then, he’s off to the #Packers tomorrow. TB picks No. 7, GB picks 14.

Vea, 6’4” 347 lbs, had a great workout at the NFL Combine. He is labeled as the top player in his position by many and also considered a potential Top 10 pick by some.
The Washington product brings great strength and athleticism to the position. At times, he also lined up at defensive end while at Washington — showing his athletic ability.
Vea is preferred by some Bucs fans. Having a player line up next to Gerald McCoy will look good for the present and future. Not to mention, beef up an already revamped defensive line.
If he is in fact high on Tampa Bay’s draft board, it would not be a bad pick.
